History
I am a 37 years old, living in Cologne, and studied "Rechtspflege", a special law study here in Germany for becoming a clerk at a court. Since 2001 I'm working as computer/network administrator for the german federal government.
I'm administrating my own Jabber server since October 2003 with half a dozen of domains, most of them for other people.
Jabber/XMPP Projects
- jabber.i-pobox.net/xmppnet.de, my Jabber server.
- janene.de, a microblogging service you can feed using jabber
- contributed to the ejabberd Installation and Operation Guide
- contributed to PyRSS
Plans for the future
No special plans... I have many ideas for the use of jabber/xmpp and discussed some of them with Peter Saint-Andre. I'm not so good at coding but I'm up to betatesting new software or ideas.
Jabber - Why I like it
I like to build up and maintain communication infrastructure for other people and for myself. (I'm also radio amateur and a former sysop of a fidonet mailbox.) In my opinion, XMPP/Jabber is the best ground to build up such projects in the internet. The potential of XMPP is very big and we are just at the start to use it.
Why I'm applying
I would like to bring in my ideas and proposals and help establish them as XEPs. I would also be able to (and like to) help managing both the XSF and XEPs.
